The fruits of Mormodes charantia are widely used in Asia and Australia to treat diabetes. In India, tablets are administered based on this ground for disease control. In Central America are used for the same purpose the leaves of M. charantia.
The consumption of 50 ml of a tincture of this plant-based reduced glucose levels after a dose of 50 g oral glucose by 20% in patients with type 2 diabetes.
