All foods have different levels of nutrients, but no food alone provides all the minerals and vitamins your body needs, in the quantities required.
To maintain health and proper functioning of our bodies need 13 vitamins and 16 minerals, and fats, carbohydrates and proteins. And although not a nutrient, our body also needs plenty of water. By eating a wide variety of foods in reasonable proportions we can obtain optimum levels of all nutrients to maintain good health and optimal weight.
