Another plants as natural cures for diabetes:

Vaccinium myrtillus (blueberry)

Blueberry leaf were widely used before insulin was widespread for the treatment of diabetes, having extracted a glycoside, the neomirtilina. Bilberry extract was able to reduce postprandial hyperglycemia and glucosuria in most type 2 diabetics but was ineffective in juvenile diabetes. It has been shown that blueberry extract increases the hypoglycaemic effect of exogenous insulin and reduces the need for this hormone, suggesting that there is some active ingredient that improves insulin action. Although no controlled studies to test that, traditional medicine claims that the bilberry extract is effective and causes no side effects when administered chronically.

Cyamopsis tetragonolobus (Indian bean)

The Indian bean has been used in Asian medicine to treat patients with diabetes. Esat plant seeds containing guar gum, a level that would act poligalactomanano retarding intestinal absorption of glucose.

Also, it seems, these seeds also contain a substance with hypoglycemic activity, but this has not yet been identified.
