Parents appreciate the importance of dental, eye and ear but it is easy to forget the most important of all: the revision of the spine.
We have to wait for symptoms to go to the chiropractor. Chiropractic gives much help to children as their lives are full of falls, poor posture, exams, backpacks … All of this affects the spine. Since a cavity silent vertebral subluxation affects the entire body. Chiropractic care provides a natural welfare and has a preventive function and immediate importance to the quality of life and school performance.
The spine is the lifeline of the body. The spinal cord is a bundle of billions of nerve fibers that reach all parts of the body, sending messages and energy from the brain to all organs for maintaining health. If this flow is interrupted, if the nerve is damaged due to a subluxation of the vertebrae, tissues, glands and organs show an imbalance that if not corrected reaches cause ill health. The chiropractor detects and corrects safe and effective these subluxations, restoring full power to the body’s innate ability to heal itself. With a healthy spine, the intern is always on call.
Three myths about chiropractic care in childhood
* “My baby does not need chiropractic care. He was born by caesarean”
Answer: A caesarean birth involves a heavy trauma to the mother and baby. Anesthesia passes from each other. The doctor is facing the strongest muscle in the body: the uterus to remove a child quickly through a small incision. Doing so can damage the spine and nerves. Cramping tummy pains of the baby may be related to trauma. This is a clear case in which the chiropractor is highly recommended for children.
* “My son has not broken anything. Only has fallen several times”
Answer: The children seem to rubber! Never break anything. That there is no break does not mean that there is a problem. A fall can affect the spine and other organs. Just as it is good to make periodic revisions to a good dentist, we must also look at chiropractic specialist to detect and correct subluxations before they become chronic. At the end of a tooth can be replaced, the pillar of our children.
* “My son is never sick, except for the usual diseases of childhood.”
Answer: The diseases of childhood are never normal, just common. It is assumed that children should suffer from colic, ear infections, colds. A healthy spine knows how to respond to these problems resolved more quickly and teaching the proper functioning immune system.
Effectiveness of Chiropractic in children with ear problems
Although chiropractors do not treat symptoms or illness, the following study is an example of how the adjustments increase the body’s ability to fight infection and reach as nervous system’s ability to respond to the environment.
A study by a Doctor of Chiropractic in suburban Minneapolis with 46 children under age 5 suffering from ear infections concluded that chiropractic care combined with the limitation of medical intervention with antibiotics and surgery …) and any change in food, eliminates the symptoms of ear infection and its subsequent consequences.
The purpose of the study was to determine whether cases of otitis media improved with Chiropractic, many adjustments were needed and what factors were related to the improvement.
The Chiropractic adjustment placed special emphasis on the cervical vertebrae and occiput of children. They applied the usual care starting with 3 settings per week, then two then one. In figures 93% of cases improved, 75% did so in 10 days or less and 43% achieved improvement in only one or two weeks.
Factors that help to obtain relief in cases of otitis media are the young age of the patient, not having a history of abuse of antibiotics, care begins at the start of otitis and to name the episode and disharmony rather than infection .
